Conditions We Treat

Hyperpigmentation

There are several types of hyperpigmentation, the common ones are:

  • Melasma - believed to be caused by hormonal changes and may develop during pregnancy.
  • Sunspots - also called  liver spots  or solar lentigines. They’re related to excess sun exposure over time.
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This is a result of injury or inflammation to the skin. A common cause of this type is acne and ingrown hair.

At Esthe Clinic we use a range of treatments, tailored to the individual, to treat hyperpigmentation.

-Chemical peels
-Microneedling with Radiofrequency
-Mesotherapy
-Glutathione IV infusions
-Skincare and prescription-only medicine

Hypopigmentation

Vitiligo is a long-term condition where pale white patches develop on the skin. It's caused by the lack of melanin, which is the pigment in skin. Vitiligo can affect any area of skin, but it commonly happens on the face, neck and hands, and in skin creases.

Treatment plans include:

  • IV infusions
  • Microneedling
  • Mesotherapy
  • Prescription medication

Acne

Acne is a common skin condition affecting many people. It causes spots, oily skin and sometimes skin that's hot or painful to touch.

Symptoms of acne:

  • Blackheads
  • White heads
  • Papules (small red bumps that may feel tender or sore)
  • Pustules (similar to papules, but have a white tip in the centre, caused by a build-up of pus)
  • Nodules (– large hard lumps that build up beneath the surface of the skin and can be painful)
  • Cysts (large pus-filled lumps that look similar to boils and carry the greatest risk of causing permanent scarring)

Treatment is tailored to each individual and can include one or more of the following

  • HydraFacial
  • Probiotics
  • Chemical peels
  • Prescription medicines
  • Cosmeceutical skincare products, such as ZO Skin Health, Medik8 & SkinCeuticals

Scarring

A scar is a mark left on the skin after a wound or injury has healed. There are various types of scars, including:

Normal fine-line scars

A minor wound like a cut will usually heal to leave a raised line, which will gradually fade and flatten over time.

Keloid scars

A keloid scar is an overgrowth of tissue that happens when too much collagen is produced at the site of a wound. Keloid scars are raised above the skin and can be pink, red, the same colour or darker than surrounding skin.

Hypertrophic scars

Like keloid scars, hypertrophic scars are the result of excess collagen being produced at the site of a wound. Unlike keloid scars, hypertrophic scars do not extend beyond the boundary of the original wound.

Pitted or sunken scars

Some scars caused by skin conditions, such as  acne  and chickenpox, can have a sunken or pitted appearance.

Antiaging

Ageing is the process of becoming older. We all know the obvious signs of aging: skin gets thinner and becomes wrinkly and less elastic, nails grow more slowly, and hairs become grey and some don’t grow at all. Some aging changes begin early in life. For example, your metabolism starts to gradually decline beginning at about age 20, and, often in our 30's, the tell-tale signs of aging begin to be apparent.

Of course, we can’t stop ageing, but we can improve the signs. So, if its lines and wrinkles that is your main concern, hair loss or joint discomfort, we can tailor a treatment plan for you. Our antiaging treatments include:

  • InfraRed exercise therapy
  • Non-surgical facelift, or HiFu (high intensity focused ultrasound)
  • Radiofrequency
  • Thermocriolipolysis
  • HydraFacial
  • Platelet rich therapy (PRP)
  • Botulinum toxin
  • Dermal Fillers

Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes blushing or flushing and visible blood vessels in your face. It may also produce small, pus-filled bumps. The symptoms of rosacea can come and go, and although they can be improved, there is currently no treatment to eradicate them. At Esthe Clinic we tailor treatment to the individual and this can include one or more of the following:

  • Probiotics (there are a number of studies which show that Rosacea is linked to gut bacteria)
